A 2024 systematic review and meta-analysis examined 14 randomized controlled trials involving nursing-home residents over age 80. Whole-body vibration training was associated with improvements in lower-limb strength, mobility, gait, balance and overall physical performance. The researchers concluded that WBV may be an effective exercise option for improving physical function in this older population.
